Stainless steel and natural stone
I was very excited about the potential of this artwork. I've not seen anything like it. I must admit it was extremely difficult to share what I saw in my mind's eyes and they chose a more familiar aesthetic. Incorporating seating was part of the RFP and since the lobby aesthetic was a beautiful balance of refined and unrefined surfaces I wanted to bring that same aesthetic outside. I propoesed boulders cut top and bottom to be the seating and then use those end-pieces, in addition to some other end-pieces from the local quarry, mounted on a stainless steel structure that suggested lightning. The cut end-pieces would be treated to enhanse the natural beauty of the stones. Another site may suggest a very different composition, but, I love to see the concept somewhere else.
