A brief anecdote about how I came up with the name. I hate legalese. Legal documents are dry and boring. About a year and a half ago I had the misfortune of having to deal with some legal issues and I heard a legal phrase for the first time: "piercing the corporate veil". My first reaction was "how poetic". The phrase obviously stuck in my head. This work has nothing to do with the legal profession or the corporate world. I conceived of the piece first and the title found its way out of that dormant corner of my mind and seemed appropriate and poetic. ~May 2009
